How to fit your new protection

Our comprehensive guide on fitting your new rugby protection gear! Properly fitted protective equipment is essential for maximizing safety and performance on the field. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the key steps to ensure your headguard, bodyarmour, and mouthguard provide the best possible protection. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the sport, our tips and techniques will help you achieve the perfect fit for optimal comfort and safety during your games.

How to fit a rugby headguard

To start with you want to open up the laces on the back of the scrum cap. You then want to fit it onto your head, making sure it fits just above the eye brows and your ears stay flat within the head guard. You do want to make sure there are no gaps around the face to make sure your opposition can’t grab onto your headguard. Adjust the strap to be fitted but not too tight, before tieing the laces at the rear in the same way that you would tie a shoe lace.

How to fit a rugby bodyarmour

With bodyarmour you want to pop it on like a T-shirt. The key to the right body armour is the placement of the pads. Make sure the shoulder pads sit on the contact areas on the shoulder, but not too far down the shoulder. With the sternum pad sitting nicely in the centre of the chest. It is designed to be fitted to help stop movement during periods of play.
